Permanent Makeup Aftercare Instructions

(Brows • Lips • Eyeliner)

Proper aftercare is essential for the best healed results. Please follow these instructions carefully:

Cleansing & Ointment
    •    Wash treated area morning and night with a gentle, fragrance-free cleanser.
    •    Use clean hands only (no washcloths or sponges).
    •    Gently pat dry with a clean tissue or cotton pad. Do not rub.
    •    Apply the provided ointment in a very thin layer (about the size of a rice grain). Too much can suffocate the skin.

What to Avoid (First 7–10 Days)
    •    No water exposure: Keep the area dry in the shower. Avoid swimming, saunas, and steam rooms.
    •    No sweating: Refrain from heavy workouts or activities that cause perspiration.
    •    No sun/tanning: Direct sun can fade pigment and irritate healing skin.
    •    No makeup, skincare, or serums on or around the treated area.
    •    No facials, chemical peels, microneedling, or laser treatments until fully healed.
    •    No picking, scratching, or rubbing the treated area—even if scabs or flakes form. Let them fall off naturally.

Healing & Lifestyle Tips
    •    Try to sleep on your back to prevent rubbing on your pillow.
    •    Use a clean pillowcase to avoid bacteria exposure.
    •    Do not expose the treated area to dust, dirt, or smoke when possible.
    •    Avoid hot tubs, pools, or any bodies of water.
    •    Do not use Vaseline, Neosporin, or any products not provided by your artist.

What to Expect
    •    Mild swelling, redness, or tenderness for the first 24–48 hours is normal.
    •    The color will appear darker and more intense at first, then lighten as it heals.
    •    Flaking and scabbing are part of the normal healing process.
    •    Final healed results can take 4–6 weeks. A touch-up is REQUIRED to perfect the color and shape. Your brows are not finished until after two sessions.

Long-Term Care
    •    Always wear SPF on healed areas to prolong pigment life.
    •    Avoid harsh exfoliants (like retinol or glycolic acid) directly on tattooed areas.
    •    Schedule maintenance touch-ups as recommended by your artist.

Following these instructions carefully will ensure the best color retention and healing for your permanent brows, lips, and eyeliner.
